No you dont have. Almost every part is similar in its gameplay, but evry part has its one story. The Fighting system is maybe one thing which is almost the same. Some find it boring, but most amazing

Ye mustn't know anything 'bout the story. It's explained in three sentences at wikipedia Trust me. However, the atmosphere of the game is great indeed.

I remember FF8 and the combat sys there. Ain't it changed slightly over the course of the series? Seems so.
I love to see the long fighting scenes and combos without any haste, thanks to the round based sys, hurray!
