No, to be specific, it's the script for my Introduction to Medieval Studies lecture. The lecturer wanted us to read the next chapter, which happened to be about language relations.

Exercise sounds good, but in the middle of the night? Nah, thanks.
ok... so there is an english thread in the forum... interesting...
Oh sounds cool. I wish I could take any sort of language related lectures...

Hmm maybe I should just take a shower

Hello Twilight smile
Well, I am actually studying "Anglistik und Amerikanistik"... the English description doesn't sound that good. "English".

So you found your way here, that's awesome!
Haha
Nice,I like this thread
It'll be so nice^^

And if you want to give a tip to someone else, you should stick to it yourself... neither tense nor language are to be written with a capital letter.

Capital letters are for countries, languages, nationalities and religions. Never said somthing about the tenses. So don't be such a smartass. You are not really better. I never said that i can write it perfect but if I can help why I shouldn't ? He asked for it Twilight: No, Really?

You actually wrote the term "tenses" with a capital letter earlier...

And seriously, I'm pretty sure my English is better. If it wasn't, why would I study it?

If you realy study it right now its sad that you don't know that languages are written big O.o
Oh my God. You wrote the word with a capital letter. The word language. Just as you wrote the word tenses with a capital letter...

I don't mean to insult you. I'm just honest with you.

Morasain was trying to help you. He is not perfect, but even in the case that you are actually better, I think you shouldn't really call him a smartass.
To all that study English. As its my 3rd language I can give you the best advice to learn it... Practice practice practice. Meet a lot of people from around the world so I have a lot chances to speak it

Ow ... This is now embarrassing .. sorry I thougt that your ment .. ow .. sorry for that FS sad
There's no problem in making mistakes Big Grin

My English isn't perfect at all... There are a few things I just can't remember, no matter how often I made the mistake...

One general tip for syntax: always start a sentence with the subject. Sounds way better.
Do you want to hear horrible English? Well, watch this Big Grin:
This is a spoiler (Öffnen)
Nope, thanks. As I said, I am actually studying English. I can hear more than enough horrifying things everyday.
It must be hard for you, though. Isn't learning English alone hard enough? I think learning Middle/Old English will be fun, but I think it would be too much of works.
Well, I am not learning middle or old English in particular. Medieval English studies is just one of my basic modules.
There are three other modules I need to attend:
-Language skills, which consists of two parts translation and two parts grammar
-introduction to English language and linguistics, which is basically a lecture about phonetics, syntax, morphology etc.
-introduction to English literature, which consists of overview English literature, overview American literature, methods of literary analysis and literary and cultural theory.

It's not really hard, to be honest. I'm just wondering... Why do people who can't even answer the most stupid question in English want to study English at a university?
What is that 'the most stupid question'?
Well... That was just an exaggeration. I can't think of an example right now, the next time I hear a stupid answer or a stupid question, I'll tell you about it.
Big Grin okay

I am being so lazy these days... I have so much to learn, I have so many books, I just don't want to read them Sad
What do?
